Cricket: The final match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia took place at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). This match was also called the 'Pink Test' as it was played in memory of the late wife of Australian legend Glenn McGrath. In her honor, Australia plays the first test each year as a 'Pink Test'. Now, the earnings from this match have been disclosed, amounting to over 9 million dollars from the Sydney Test.

Over 9 million dollars raised from the Sydney Test

The Sydney Test between India and Australia began on January 3. The match concluded by the third day. A large crowd attended the test, resulting in substantial income for the Sydney Cricket Ground. It is reported that over 9 million dollars (Rs 47,89,09,710 in Indian currency) were generated from the Pink Test. However, this fund did not go to the stadium's share.

All proceeds go to the McGrath Foundation

Glenn McGrath, a legendary Australian player, established the McGrath Foundation in 2005 with his wife Jane McGrath. Jane passed away from breast cancer in 2008. Since 2009, the Australian team has played the first Test annually in her memory. All proceeds from this event are donated to the McGrath Foundation, which supports breast cancer patients in Australia.

Australia won the Sydney Test

The Australian team outperformed Team India in the Pink Test held in Sydney. Australia secured victory in the second session of the third day. Team India scored 185 runs in their first inning. In response, Australia was also dismissed for a low score, making 181 runs in their first inning. Subsequently, India's second innings concluded at 157 runs. With a four-run lead from the first inning, India set a target of 162 runs for Australia. Australia easily chased this target, winning the match by 6 wickets.
