This year, Maruti Suzuki India launched the fourth-generation model of its entry-level sedan, the Maruti Dzire. Since its debut in the market 17 years ago, it has remained popular among consumers. Like other Maruti models such as the Maruti 800, Maruti Alto, Maruti WagonR, and Maruti Swift, the Dzire has secured its place among the public and has now set a new record.

Since its launch, a total of 3 million, or 30 lakh, Maruti Dzire units have been manufactured. This marks a record for sedan production in the country. The Maruti Dzire was introduced in 2008.

When did Maruti Dzire set records?

Maruti Dzire reached the milestone of producing 10 lakh units in 2015, just a few years post-launch. Its demand surged, doubling this figure by 2019 to 20 lakh units. Now, within 5 years, the company has manufactured another 10 lakh Dzires, despite the challenges posed by the COVID pandemic affecting car sales.
