The revenue generated from the fifth Test between India and Australia in Sydney has been disclosed, amounting to crores of rupees. Despite this, the stadium will not receive any portion of the earnings. What is the reason for this..

Sydney Test : The fifth and final match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia took place at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). This match, referred to as the 'Pink Test', was played in honor of the late wife of Australian legend Glenn McGrath. In her memory, Australia holds the first Test each year as a 'Pink Test'. It has now been disclosed that over 9 million dollars were raised from the Sydney Test.

More than 9 million dollars raised from Sydney Test

The Sydney Test match between India and Australia began on January 3. The outcome of the match was decided by the third day. A significant crowd attended this test, resulting in substantial revenue for the Sydney Cricket Ground. Reports indicate that over 9 million dollars (equivalent to Rs 47,89,09,710 in Indian currency) were generated from the Pink Test. However, this revenue did not go to the stadium's account.

All the money received by the McGrath Foundation

Glenn McGrath, a legendary Australian player, co-founded the McGrath Foundation with his wife Jane McGrath in 2005. After Jane passed away from breast cancer in 2008, the Australian team has annually dedicated the first Test match to her memory since 2009. Proceeds from this event support the McGrath Foundation, which aids breast cancer patients in Australia.

Australia won the Sydney Test

The Australian team outperformed Team India in the Pink Test held in Sydney. Australia secured victory in the second session of the third day. Team India, batting first, scored 185 runs. In reply, Australia was also dismissed for a low score, making 181 runs in their first innings. India's second innings concluded with 157 runs. With a four-run lead from the first innings, India set a target of 162 runs for Australia to win. Australia chased down this target comfortably, winning the match by 6 wickets.

Champions Trophy

Champions Trophy : How long will Rohit Sharma continue to play international cricket? This is the major question on every cricket fan's mind, and it appears that the answer has now been revealed. A report regarding Rohit Sharma suggests that this legendary player will retire from international cricket following the Champions Trophy, indicating that his career will conclude after this event. Rohit Sharma also attended the BCCI selectors' meeting on January 11, where it was noted that he will remain the captain until a new captain is chosen. However, according to a newspaper report, the Champions Trophy will be Rohit's final international tournament.

Rohit will not go on England tour

As reported by Dainik Jagran, Rohit Sharma will not participate in the England tour. His international career is set to conclude with the end of the Champions Trophy. Team India is scheduled to play three league matches in the Champions Trophy. The final league match is on March 2. If the team does not advance to the semi-finals, March 2 might mark the end of Rohit's international career. If the team is eliminated in the semi-finals, then March 4 could be Rohit Sharma's last international game. Should the team reach the final, March 9 might be the last day of Rohit's career.

Rohit will not go to England

Recently, Rohit Sharma had a disappointing performance during the Australia tour. During the Sydney Test, he even opted out of the playing eleven. This makes his participation in the England tour uncertain. Following the Champions Trophy, Team India is set to compete in the 2027 World Cup, and since Rohit is 38 years old, it seems unlikely that he will play in the World Cup at 40. This is why the Champions Trophy is being regarded as his final international tournament.
