Russia attacked: Russia launched cruise missiles at Ukraine from TU-95 bombers stationed in the Black Sea. This marks Russia's most significant assault in the past three years. The attack is viewed as retaliation against Ukraine, following Ukraine's strike on Russia the previous night, Tuesday.

Russia attacked: This is Russia's largest offensive against Ukraine to date, targeting 100 sites simultaneously. Cruise missiles were fired from TU-95 bombers in the Black Sea, constituting the biggest assault by Russia in three years. This is considered a retaliatory move against Ukraine, as Ukraine had attacked Russia on Tuesday night.

In Kiev, over a dozen buildings were destroyed in the attack, with many catching fire. Ukraine has not revealed casualty figures. Russia used Iskander missiles, causing significant damage to Ukraine. The initial strike occurred at 6:30 am, prompting an emergency declaration throughout Kiev. Sirens blared continuously, and residents sought refuge in bunkers.

What was Ukraine's response to the attack?

President Zelensky commented on the Russian attacks, stating that over 40 ballistic missiles were launched and 30 Russian missiles were intercepted.

Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko posted on Facebook, condemning the ongoing terror against Ukrainians. He urged residents to remain in shelters amid the current threat and follow official updates.

State energy company Ukrenergo announced emergency power outages in the Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kirovohrad regions. Kiev Mayor Andriy Sadovy reported enemy cruise missiles detected in the area during the morning assault.

The Ukrainian Air Force identified several missiles fired by Russia amidst a nationwide airstrike alert, though initial reports suggested no casualties.
