Delhi-NCR : Hailstorms will occur along with rain in Delhi-NCR today, IMD has issued a yellow alert..

A thick fog envelops several states in North India, prompting a warning from the Meteorological Department. Additionally, rain, hail, and lightning are expected in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan. An alert has also been issued for snowfall in mountainous regions.

Many states across the country are enveloped in dense fog, while snowfall persists in the mountainous regions. The intense cold has disrupted people's lives. The Meteorological Department predicts that the cold will intensify. As temperatures drop, people will have to endure rain, fog, and hail. The combination of snowfall and rain will persist in the hilly areas, meaning relief from the biting cold is not yet in sight. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a chance of isolated hailstorms in western Rajasthan on Saturday. Meanwhile, rain is expected in Uttarakhand, Western Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Eastern Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.


Dense fog has enveloped the entire North India, including Delhi-NCR. The Meteorological Department has indicated that this foggy condition will persist for now. Consequently, a yellow alert has been issued in Delhi-NCR on Saturday. The fog has significantly impacted transportation, bringing vehicle speeds to a standstill. Rail and air travel are also affected, with long-distance trains running several hours late, causing passengers to endure severe cold at railway stations. The Meteorological Department warns that the dense fog is expected to continue for a longer period.

The Meteorological Department reports that dense to very dense fog is expected in Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana-Chandigarh during the night and morning on January 12 and 13. Some regions of Uttar Pradesh will experience fog until January 15. Dense fog is anticipated in eastern Rajasthan on January 12 and 13, and in parts of Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh during the night and morning on January 14 and 15. Western Rajasthan is likely to see dense fog on Saturday and Sunday, while eastern Rajasthan will have it on Saturday. Dense fog is also expected in Madhya Pradesh, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim from January 11 to 13, and in Bihar, Assam, and Meghalaya on January 12.


Today, there will be lightning and hailstorms in certain areas. The Meteorological Department predicts that on Saturday, dense fog is expected to cover Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Western Rajasthan, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, and parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during the night and morning. Additionally, thunderstorms with hail and lightning are anticipated in some regions of Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Western Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, lightning is likely in certain areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Eastern Madhya Pradesh.
