Virat Kohli was insulted by Australian media over his heated altercation with Australian teenager Sam Konstas in Melbourne.

Ind vs Aus : The International Cricket Council (ICC) match referee Andy Pycroft may have delivered his decision regarding the Virat Kohli-Sam Konstas incident on the first day of the 4th Test in Melbourne, but the Australian media is not satisfied. Kohli and Konstas had a heated confrontation on the field, with the Indian star apparently intentionally bumping the Australian opener with his shoulder. The incident sparked significant backlash both on and off the field, with numerous former cricketers expressing their opinions. Although it seemed the matter would conclude with the match referee's decision, the Australian media was displeased that the Indian star received only a 20 percent fine on his match fee and one demerit point.
Demands for Kohli to receive at least a one-match suspension grew after the incident gained traction on social media. However, the match referee believed that one demerit point and a fine were sufficient penalties. The Australian media, on the other hand, went too far by labeling Kohli a 'clown' and insulting him in Friday's newspapers.
'The West Australian' demeaned the former India captain with the headline - 'Clown Kohli.' Kohli was also referred to as a sook (crybaby or coward) for his actions.
Konstas' eagerly awaited debut in Australia proved to be one of the most entertaining in quite some time. The 19-year-old not only made headlines by challenging Indian pace leader Jasprit Bumrah and scoring 34 of his 60 runs against him, but Virat also engaged in a heated exchange with the youngster after a shoulder-to-shoulder bump. The 36-year-old was fined 20 percent of his match fee by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and received one demerit point for this confrontation.
