Delhi assembly elections are approaching. In the meantime, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav has separated himself from Congress. He has declared his support for the Aam Aadmi Party. This move by the SP chief has heightened Congress's concerns.

Support to AAP in Delhi elections : The Delhi Assembly elections are approaching, and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav has made a significant announcement. He declared that the SP will support the Aam Aadmi Party. Additionally, Akhilesh mentioned that the SP will back whoever can defeat the BJP. He also stated that Congress will not receive support in Delhi.
Akhilesh Yadav's statement has heightened the concerns of the Congress. While the partnership of Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav was prominent in the Lok Sabha elections, it is absent in Delhi. Akhilesh reiterated that he will not support the Congress in Delhi. Consequently, the political tension for Congress, which is hoping to gain power in Delhi, has intensified.
Akhilesh supported AAP
Prior to this, Akhilesh Yadav had already demonstrated his support for the Aam Aadmi Party. In December 2024, he took part in the AAP's Mahila Adalat event at Thyagaraj Stadium in Delhi. On this occasion, he expressed that AAP deserves another opportunity. He also stated that "the Samajwadi Party fully stands with AAP. Whenever AAP requires support and assistance, we will be there alongside the Aam Aadmi Party. The party should be given another chance to work here."
Every party is striving hard for the Delhi Assembly elections. In light of the elections, the Aam Aadmi Party has declared its candidates for all seats. Simultaneously, Congress is consistently unveiling its lists. Congress has nominated Sandeep Dixit to run against AAP convenor and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for the New Delhi seat.
