YouTube or Netflix, who earned more money?
Recently a media report has revealed that YouTube is at the forefront in terms of earnings in India. After YouTube, Meta is at the second position, JioStar at the third position, Netflix at the fourth position and Amazon Prime Video has made its place in the last slot of this list.
The market for subscription based video on demand is growing rapidly in India, an average of 15 million subscriptions were taken in 2024, taking the total number of video streaming subscribers to 125 million. This figure is expected to double in the next five years i.e. by 2029, it is estimated that this figure can touch 287 million.
Who is ahead in terms of unique visitors?
YouTube leads not only in revenue but also in unique visitors. In June 2024, YouTube had 462 million unique visitors, Meta had 324 million, and Jio Star had 287 million. It's important to note that the report currently does not disclose any information about the unique subscribers of Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
Who came out ahead in terms of subscribers?
The Business Standard report does not provide information about YouTube and Meta. However, when discussing JioStar, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video, JioStar has surpassed Netflix and Amazon in subscriber numbers.
